10 Motivational Tips to Start Your Week Off Right

It’s the first day of the week and you’re trying to muster enough energy to get out of bed. What’s overcome your usual 10 out of 10 self? One of my favorite movies of all time says it best: Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays. (Office Space, for the win!)

But – don’t fret! Here are 10 motivational tips to start your week off right. Feel free to broadcast them on your TVs or add them to your Hoopla Channels.

1. The best way to conquer the day is to plan it out.

Taking just 15 minutes out of your day to get your to-do’s straight will help you map out your week and feel prepared to tackle anything.

2. Get organized

A clean work space helps you set the pace for a more organized day and more clarity in your daily outlook to be more productive.

3. Each morning, identify three things you are grateful for.

Whether it’s being grateful for those in your life who give you endless support or the espresso machine in the office kitchen that gives you endless coffee, take the time to count your blessings. A little brightness in your day can go a long way.

4. Focus on one project at a time

Seeing a long list of action items can fluster anybody. Don’t think too much about all the things you have to do – just start somewhere. I like to do the easiest task on my list first then move on to the next with the highest priority. Crossing even just one item off your list can feel invigorating and motivate you to take on the rest of your day. (Evernote is a great tool for taking notes and creating checklists.)

5. Be happier at work.

Happiness is important in every aspect of life to stay motivated and energized. Find the time to help a colleague. While this helps make their day a little easier, it’ll also make you feel useful and important.

6. Take a “Coffee Nap”

If your office offers a zen room, take advantage of it. Sometimes you just need to a little pick-me-up to feel refreshed and ready to work again.

7. We are what we repeatedly do.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and excellence is no different. Build healthy habits into your daily routine to become the best person you can be.

8. You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.

You won’t get anywhere talking about what you’re going to do – you have to execute. Set clear goals for yourself then define the steps to get there.

9. How to get over the midweek slump

Friday may seem like days away (literally), but there are a couple of things you can do to make the days leading up seem less of a drag. Plan something fun to do after work like grabbing dinner with a friend, organize your planner for a less hectic week, and choose healthier foods to get a natural boost.

10. Remember that each day is another chance to better yourself.
